Agentic Constellations. Cartography of the Hidden

Live data installation on a 15 × 3 m LED wall in the EnBW foyer, made with AI agents. With Daniel Heiss.

Role: Artist, with Daniel Heiss

About the Exhibition

Agentic Constellations is a single-work exhibition by ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe at the EnBW headquarters (23 October 2026 – 7 February 2027, free admission). AI agents look at publicly available data about EnBW (company data, historical documents, measurement series, live data from wind farms, ships and electricity markets) and relate them to each other. The question behind it is the one on the poster: what do agents see that we overlook?

What You See

A 15 × 3 m LED wall shows a changing sequence of scenes built from that data: diagrams, networks, fields and maps, often in space rather than on a flat chart. Fine, bright lines on black; where many of them cross, they start to glow. A map of Germany dissolves into a cloud of lines that forms the title from one viewing angle. Electricity price and offshore wind grow as floating bodies out of daily curves. The He Dreiht wind farm is built in the North Sea, with the actual construction vessels and the current sea state. A walk through white rooms shows the art EnBW owns, reconstructed only from public sources. Next to the wall, a portrait screen explains what is being shown.

The agents find connections everywhere. Whether one of them means something, they do not decide. What ends up on the wall, and how, is decided by us. That is our part of the work on a piece made with AI.

The first version ran in April 2026 as Agent Provokateur in THE SCREEN. Three Positions on AI and Art at ZKM.
