About the Exhibition
Choose Your Filter! presents browser-based art from the 1990s to the 2020s at ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (February 1 – August 24, 2025). The exhibition shows restored works that were considered permanently lost because their technology became obsolete: Flash, Java Applets, Shockwave and other obsolete web technologies. Among the featured works, Eden.Garden by Entropy8Zuper! (Auriea Harvey & Michaël Samyn) was selected for Rhizome World in New York City (April 2025).
My Role
- Browser art conservation: restoring works dependent on obsolete technologies (Flash, Java Applets, Shockwave, historical browsers like Internet Explorer 4/8)
- Technical development: building the technical infrastructure for presenting the restored works in the exhibition
- Catalogue author: contributing to the exhibition catalogue on the technical aspects of conservation
